Rebuilding the Temple Agape Bible Study
The Book of of the Prophet Nehemiah

When Nehemiah, the Jewish royal cupbearer to Persian King Artaxerxes, heard that without a wall to protect the city of Jerusalem its citizens were at the mercy of marauders, he requested permission to travel to Judah to rebuild the holy city's walls. Nehemiah arrived in 444 BC with the king's authority to gather whatever supplies he needed and immediately organized the people to defend Jerusalem and rebuild its walls. He not only brought structural and political restoration to Jerusalem but also spiritual restoration through the people's recommitment to obedience to their covenant with Yahweh.
