The Israelites left Goshen on the 15th of the first month of the first year of the Exodus. In the third month of the first year of the Exodus, they arrived at Mt. Sinai (Ex 19:1). By tradition, they arrived on the 48th day. The Israelites left Mt. Sinai on the 20th day of the second month of the second year of the Exodus and began their journey to Kadesh Barea (Num 10:11). Their rebellion at Kadesh Barnea led to a divine judgement and a total of forty years in the wilderness(Num 14:33-35).
