Jesus was born during the reign of the first Roman Emperor, Augustus Ceasar (d. 14AD), and His three year ministry was during the reign of Tiberius Ceasar (d. 37AD). By 70 AD the Roman Empire controlled most of the known world from Portugal to Persia and from England to Egypt.
